Tuesday, 2nd April, 2019

We will assemble in the lobby of our hotel (4* Loi Suites Esmeralda) at 17:00 sharp. Kyle will then lead a small walk through the streets ensuring everyone is familiar with the area and gaining an understanding of important locations such as convenience stores and restaurants etc. Once back at the hotel lobby, Kyle will brief you on the entire program and be on hand to answer any questions. From then on, it’s your time at leisure, enjoy the hotels facilities or perhaps walk the streets and experience what Buenos Aires has to offer….

Our amazing Hotel for the week is the 4* Loi Suites Esmeralda. Loi Suites Esmeralda offers 1 and 2-room apartments with a modern stylish décor, only 200 m from San Martin Square. Wi-Fi is available. After a hearty breakfast at our hotel, it’s time for our first round of golf at the famous Olivos Golf Club. “It´s considered the best golf course in Argentina, it is ranked 59th (best ranking for an Argentine Golf Course) on the Golf Digest´s “best golf courses outside US”. Olivos has 27 great holes with big, hilly, and extremely fast greens that will challenge your short game as well as the flatstick (putter). It has hosted the Argentine Open on more than 20 occasions, it´s also the home of the Argentinian Masters. After Golf we will enjoy some cold cuts, cheese and a couple “cerveza’s”. Once back at the hotel the evening is at leisure, ask Kyle to recommend a great restaurant for that delicious Steak and Wine you have been dreaming about….

We jump straight into our second day of golf at the impressive Nordelta Golf Club. The Jack Nicklaus designed course is routed across former wetlands where the holes weave their way around a series of lakes to the south of the River Plate – the world’s widest estuary. Host to the 2008 Argentine Amateur Championship and 2009 and 2012 Argentine Open, the new Nordelta Golf Club has a bright future, and we expect the club to rise in the rankings. After Golf it’s time to relax, or if you up to it then perhaps visit the Recoleta Cementary or grab an “on the go” snack at Café Tortoni.

We take a break from golf today and enjoy a Half Day City Tour of Buenos Aires with our very own English-speaking Guide. The tour lasts roughly 3 hours in which we will discover the magic of the Federal District of Argentina. You will see the sumptuousness of Barrio Norte and Palermo and the beauty of their parks and buildings, as well as the majestic Colon Theatre, one of the most important Opera Houses in the World; and special architecture of buildings such as the Law Courts, the National Congress, “Cabildo” and “Casa Rosada”. To finish off this tour, you will visit the old San Telmo quarter, residence of the “portena” aristocracy up to the end of the last century; the colourful La Boca, picturesque quarter of Italian immigrants and the old harbour area. Now is the time to ask the guide all those questions about the history of Buenos Aires and how this district came to be….

Its back to Golf today and we do so at the Pilar Golf Club. It’s located in one of the new fashion areas around Buenos Aires. Pilar offers a modern, very elegant and exclusive Country Golf Club, easy to reach from Buenos Aires Capital City. This American style 7221 yards long field will test your power distance (like Angel Cabrera) as well of your short game on its 18 championship holes built on more than 247 acres, that were inaugurated in 1993. It also has an impressive, luxurious and large club-house with several services for golfers.

Our final round of the tour takes place at the famous Buenos Aires Golf Club. It was opened in 1994 to host two important international events: the Argentina Open and Los Andes Cup but also hosted the WGC World Cup in 2000, where the most important golfers participated, including Tiger Woods. The golf course, designed by the Architect Robert Von Hagge, is regarded as one of the most important in South America and the best in Argentina. The main attraction is its American Style, not very common among the Argentinean courses, full of uneven areas which forces players to use all parts of their game.

It’s our final day of the tour and the day is at leisure. Now is a great time to buy those souvenirs you been eyeing out the whole week. Enjoy the hotels facilities or take another day trip, Tigre is a popular destination for the day. Make sure you back in time for the evenings activity, some even say the highlight of the trip…

Our evening starts with a transfer to the Esquina Carlos Gardel for Dinner and a Tango Show. At a cul-de-sac corner -now renamed “Carlos Gardel” as a way of paying tribute to him-, used to gather: the “Chanta Cuatro”. That restaurant was the mute witness of a unique story. It opened in 1893, as a two-floor restaurant and hotel. Among its premises, there was a “bochas” alley, a traditional game at that time, that originated the peculiar name of the place. Today, more than 100 years later, this same story, magically, comes back. “Esquina Carlos Gardel”, located at the very same place where “Chanta Cuatro” once was, joins these two authentic stories and offers an inimitable -and insurmountable-alternative regarding Tango-restaurants. A superb cuisine, an exquisitely decorated -Art Nouveau style-ambience, that exactly re-creates the sophistication of the most luxurious old-time dining rooms, lastgeneration technology equipment, level artistic proposal, and a mystical atmosphere that will lead you to experience an unforgettable night. It couldn’t be otherwise…yet the very same Carlos Gardel waits for you at the door…!!!
